From the ‘Positions’ tab, you can close your position at market price or by using a limit price. For instance, an open position in ETH-PERP can be closed at the market price by clicking on the ‘Market’ button.
You can also select a limit price and click on ‘Close’ to submit a limit order to exit your position.
For example, if you wanted to exit a long position at $175, enter 175.00 into the grey box and click on ‘Close’ (as shown below).
After you click ‘Close’, you can either confirm your order by clicking 'Sell' or cancel.
The limit order is submitted and added to the ‘Active Orders’ tab once you have clicked on 'Sell'.
When the market price reaches the limit price, the limit order will be executed and the position will be closed.
You can also use the order panel to submit limit orders to close your position.
For example, if you were long 100,000 ETH-PERP contracts, you can close the order entirely by selling 100,000 contracts (denoted as -100,000). Similarly, if you were short 100,000 ETH-PERP contracts, you must buy 100,000 contracts (denoted as +100,000) to exit the position.
Positions can be partially closed with a limit order that has a position size that is a proportion of the original position. For instance, to take some profits from a trade and close half of the position, you could set a limit order to sell 50,000 contracts instead of 100,000 contracts.
Once your order is submitted, you will get a notification and the position is removed from the 'Positions' tab once it is closed.
